Among 1957 and 1958, an approximated a single to 4 million men and women world wide died within an outbreak caused by the A(H2N2) virus. The virus was a combination of a virus of avian origin, likely from geese, and a human influenza virus. The pandemic began in Guizhou in southern China, but spread globally.  The initial outbreak was documented
